So I finally (finally being 2 days, yes im that addicted to pilot season) got around to watching "The Secret Circle" CW's new teeny bopper fantasy/magic new series.
Secret Circle is about a girl Cassie whose mother dies and she moves with her grandmother to a small town where she discovers she is part of an ancient legacy of witches, but with this revelation she also discovers there is danger coming her way.
I know the story line sounds like pretty much every B-movie ever made for television but after watching the pilot I found it to be pretty much like the love child of "The Craft" with "Pretty Little Liars" there is magic with a secret that keeps you compelled to keep watching
So gotta say...not hating it. Much like "Vampire Diaries" I expected the pilot to be cliché, with bad acting and special effects that would make Ed Wood tremble, yet I was pleasantly surprised by finding the story intriguing (mainly thanks to the parents of the main characters and their involvement in the mystery), the acting (even though they are teens on the CW network), not horrible I mean better than must and with some surprises; Phoebe Tunkin who plays Faye the reckless, selfish one of the group is a pleasure to watch and I'm thinking she should replace the main character, lets just make the series about her and call it "All about Faye". The special effects are better than most (*cough* Ringer *cough) and the cinematography itself its pretty standard for a mystery tv series.
Anyway if you don't find the theme of magic annoying and/or watching teen series (either because you are a teen or have the mind of a teen, like me) this is definitely a must see to keep you eye out.

Blame Canada and their sex obsessed minds
Now I'm gonna start this blog stating that Canada is NOT know for its Tv, Canada is more like moose and honey, but I feel the need to mention their show "Lost Girl" simply because it has turned into my new obsession (combined with about a million other shows)
Now LG is a pure and bred canadian supernatural crime drama television series (yes that complicated and just as interesting) about a private detective that is also a succubus and her everyday life of crime solving. Now the interesting thing about this show is, well how far really its willing to go, the fact that it doesn't take itself very seriously, and how truly entertaining it is.
The story is about Bo a BISEXUAL (yes you heard right) succubus that grew up with an adopted human family and doesn't understand why every time she gets her groove on she kills her partner; in the pilot episode Bo saves a human girl named Kenzi and gets her first experience with the Fae world and their political conflict, Bo chooses in the true canadian way to remain neutral in the war and pair up with Kenzi to form a detective agency.
I know that the premise sounds a bit like those books you read when you where a tween but I am telling you there is nothing tween about this show, well maybe a little but only the good parts. The show is sexy and funny and pretty much one of the guiltiest pleasures you will find since you decided to eat that extra piece of chocolate cake.
THis show would have never been produced on an american network (maybe Starz) it is sex sex sex, every kind and in every episode and the eye candy...hello! from the delectable werewolf/police officer lover to the sexy/mysterious doctor Lauren we have a very lucky succubus and a very lucky audience both female and male.
Now im not selling a show that will change your life or the best piece of art that you will find, what im talking about is a simple entertaining show to watch on a sunday when you really just want to hang out, eat popcorn and pass the time; and Lost Girl is perfect for that.
